¾ Riedels on the road: 
The journey is on! We leave Brisbane and the chaos continues. Our plane is overbooked, we have to take a flight 5 hours later, have to cancel the car ferry, the car and book another ferry. Reason enough to get angry and annoyed but we decide to do it the Australian way and relaxed. No worries, mate, everything is going to be fine. And so it is! We are having an exciting, wavy ferry ride and finally land on the island safe and sound. 

On our first day we park the car at Radical Bay and take a hidden little path trhough the rainforest to Balding Bay where we relax a bit before we expl orethe beautiful cliffs. Wouldn’t it be nice to climb across to get back to Radical Bay? Oh yeah it would! And so we start the climbing tour not knowing what to expect. The landscape is mind-blowingly beautiful. And what we are doing is thrilling and crazy and so much fun! And creepy, stupid, risky, irresponsible. I am really proud of mum who agreed to join. The cliffs get slippery, the tide is rising and we are not sure whether we will make it to the other side before the tde is high and the sky turns dark. Turning is no option, either. This is a real adventure! After 2 hours of climbing we somehow arrive at the beach and we are super thrilled and proud and relieved. This is totally worth the winners’ picture, how we like to call it. ;)

  

At home we are having a well-deserved BBQ with sweet potatoes and kangaroo. A curious possum is visiting us at the balcony. The next day we decide to take it easy and spend a laid-back day with reading and relaxing at radical bay. In the evening we drive with our 4-wheel-drive through rainforest and water holes to West Point and wander along the endless beach. It’s calm and peaceful.
